About

This blog originally started out as a self-branding blog targeting college students, but once I graduated in December 2011, it was time to move on. After four months of searching for a new direction, I finally figured out where to go next.

Having lived and breathed running as a decent high school track and cross-country runner (sub 16m 5k, sub 5m mile and regional qualifier in the Texas 5A division), distance running is something I have gained a ton of insight, knowledge and experience over the years. Although I did not run in college for financial reasons (even though I was offered several NCAA DII scholarships), running is still something I have always had a passion for, even when I wasn’t even running.

After nearly a decade of being distracted by the military and college life, the fire to run is coming back. Follow along as I work my way up from the couch to the 5k and beyond, eventually to checking the completion of a marathon (or two) off of my bucket list.

Running partners welcome.

Awesome! Thanks, man. I appreciate the feedback. I will make sure to mention Brand Yourself in a future post. I am thinking about doing a “Who You Should Follow” category. You post some great content on Twitter. Once again, thank you for taking the time to check out the blog!
